This document offers guidance on the way forward for enterprise in education in Scotland within the context of Curriculum for Excellence. Setting out perspectives arising from Determined to Succeed, the document expands on the qualities and abilities already in evidence in effective programmes of enterprise in education.

It is designed to assist teachers and other educators in encouraging the development of enterprising young people with belief in their own capacities for being successful learners, confident individuals, responsible citizens and effective contributors to work and society.

The document looks in detail at enterprise in education, including:

  • its values 
  • the relationship with the National Priorities and Curriculum for Excellence  
  • the principles for curriculum design
  • ensuring quality.
