A 2020 vision for early years

A report by the Social Market Foundation, October 2004.

This paper presents a vision for early years policy and provision in 2020 that has the life chances of disadvantaged children and their families as its primary focus. It has been developed by the Social Market Foundation in collaboration with Daycare Trust.

The paper addresses parental leave, early education and care, parental support and the role of children’s centres, and explores how each component of the vision contributes to improved life chances.
