The Early Years area of the Learning and Teaching Scotland Online Service aims to support quality early years practice by providing examples from practice, points for reflection, and information to support and stimulate those involved in the care and education of children aged 0-8 years.

Here you will find case studies, downloadable illustrations and publications, research information and other resources to support the reflective practitioner.

You will not find worksheets, lesson plans or assessment checklists. Learning and Teaching Scotland believes each child is unique and the learning process is complex. Learning, to be effective, needs to build on what the learner already knows and an understanding of the ways in which children learn.
