Recruitment initiatives
The number of men working in childcare currently is very small, and the number of practitioners and educators trying to find solutions to the gender imbalance in the workforce is even smaller.
This issue is now being addressed in a number of countries. The support given by the Scottish Executive to Men in Childcare has helped promote the issue across Scotland.
