Education authority policies

To take advantage of the advice available, the website includes advice issued by each education authority. Each authority is therefore being asked to provide a reference to their own advice, which will be included in the table below. 

Authorities may also chose to make use of the policy frameworks and samples on this site by directing their staff to this material rather than producing their own local advice on each aspect. If authorities do chose to endorse the use of these materials in this way, the link which will appear in the table will be 'please refer to the frameworks and policies on this site'.

East DunbartonshireEast Dunbartonshire Council has an Internet and Email policy which takes into account employees and pupils. It is available from Council officers.

East RenfrewshireThe following documents are available on the Staff Only section of the East Renfrewshire Education Intranet: 
Standard Circular 69, 'Guidelines on the Safe Use of the Internet, Electronic Communications and Mobile Technologies',
Standard Circular 78, 'Use of Information Technology Equipment and Systems Connected to the Education Network' and a complementary document,
'Best Practice Guidelines for Use of E-mail and the Internet'. 
City of EdinburghEducation Department policies for ICT usage can be found on Channel 1 of the Council Intranet. Select 'Policies and Procedures', then 'ICT Guidelines'. Details of ICT support can be found under 'ICT Services'.

MorayThe relevant policy documentation, entitled "Pupil Use of Internet and E-mail" can be found on the Moray Council Intranet. Its reference is SS/016/01, and it was issued on 31/05/01.

RenfrewshireThe relevant Council policy documents 'Internet access and use in schools' and 'Implementing internet access and use in schools' were issued to all establishments in February and March 2003.

South LanarkshireAdvice is available to all establishments via Operating Procedures - Section F. It is also hoped to make the procedures accessible soon through the Education Intranet. In Libraries acceptable use agreements are made available to all users of the internet.
Stirling"Policy and Guidelines for Staff on the Use of the Internet" is Service Policy Number 11 located within the Policy Guidelines on the Children's Services Page of Stirling Council Intranet. This document also contains Child Safety issues and the NAACE information promoting Responsible Use of the Internet in Schools.
