Points of Information can be made during a main speech by any speaker on the opposite team.
Points of Information should be short, snappy and to the point (under 15 seconds).
Each team member should aim to offer at least two Points of Information during each opposition speech.
A speaker should consider how many Points of Information they take in their speech. In a 3-minute speech, taking two Points of Information is plenty.
Judges should reward well-taken and well-given Points of Information.
If a Point of Information is taken, then it is essential to reply.
Unless agreed by debaters before the debate, Points of Information are not allowed during the Summary Speeches or at any time by non-debaters. The exception would be in some forms of classroom debating (See Whole-class debates).
