British Parliamentary debate format

British Parliamentary Format is a format used primarily in competitive debating. It involves four teams (two teams on the proposition, two teams on the opposition) and is quite technical.

All teams are competing against each other although, at the same time, teams on the same side of the debate should be careful not to contradict each other.

There should be a Floor Debate after the final Opposition Speaker’s (8) speech.
