The Curriculum for Excellence Management Board has overall responsibility for ensuring that the programme of curriculum change is delivered.
A range of organisations with a part to play in bringing about the changes in educational outcomes is represented on the Board.

- Educational Institute of Scotland (EIS)
- Scottish Secondary Teachers' Association (SSTA)
- Society of Local Authority Chief Executives and Senior Managers (SOLACE)
- Association of Scotland's Colleges (ASC)
- Association of Headteachers and Deputes in Scotland (AHDS)
- School Leaders Scotland (SLS)
- Association of Directors of Education in Scotland (ADES)
- General Teaching Council Scotland (GTCS)
- Skills Development Scotland (SDS)
- Deans of Universities’ Faculties of Education.
- Scottish Council of Independent Schools (SCIS)
