There are lots of different ways to undertake your professional learning and they don’t all have to eat into your valuable CPD funds.
This edition of CPDNews from the National CPD Team looks at just some of the free CPD available to Scottish education through CPDFind.
Many of these opportunities are available to everyone via the internet but even more can be accessed through the Glow community (where you see the +Glow sign).
Visit CPDFind and enter 'cost:free' in the search box. You will be presented with a list of all the free CPD we have amassed so far!

The Enterprise team at LTS has (in partnership with Determined to Succeed) developed a number of online CPD resources and professional study materials. Of particular note are the Partnership with Employers resources with their interesting use of video think-pieces and note-taking facilities.

Imagine being able to share your CPD journey with colleagues. You can now do this by joining one of the many specialised professional communities in Glow.
However, to share with your colleagues on Glow, you will first need to get a Glow password.
More and more groups are added every week. If you don’t see the one you want, why not start your own by contacting the Glow Team?

Designed to coincide with the launch of the Experiences and Outcomes, the new look Curriculum for Excellence website will deliver the experiences and outcomes in a friendly format whilst providing pointers to further CPD that is available.
Try searching for 'Curriculum for Excellence' on CPDFind.

The SQA Academy is a place where you can access professional learning for many aspects of assessment. Combined with LTS’s AifL site, you will get a formidable overview of assessment in Scottish education without leaving the comfort of your computer!
Journey to Excellence is an excellent online CPD resource which covers the 10 dimensions of excellence with a comprehensive set of video and downloadable think-pieces. Look out for the specialist CPD trails through the materials!

Through its OpenLearn programme, the Open University (OU) provides a variety of free CPD on topics such as citizenship, partnership working, teaching strategies, child development, inclusive education and a range of other topics.
Even the National CPD Team gets a look-in!
We would love to hear from anyone involved in educational CPD, so please feel free to email us.
