Climate change is recognised as the most serious environmental threat to our planet. Unless we can reduce reliance on fossil fuels such as coal, oil and gas, the threat posed by increasingly unpredictable and violent weather will continue to grow.
This site has been produced on behalf of the Scottish Executive by Learning and Teaching Scotland. Whilst it will be of interest to everyone, it is aimed at young people aged between 9 and 14 (levels C/D/E of the Scottish curriculum) to inform and raise awareness of some of the key issues surrounding climate change and the effect on Scotland. The site complements the Scottish Executive's 'do a little - change a lot' campaign, which shows how even the smallest of actions, taken by everyone, can make a big difference for the environment, not only in Scotland, but for the whole world.
We hope that you enjoy the site and learn a lot about the simple actions that you, your friends, family and relatives can take to help protect Scotland, and the world, from the threat posed by climate change.
