Show Racism the Red Card
Show Racism the Red Card (SRtRC) is an anti-racist charity set up in 1996 with the aim of using professional footballers as anti-racist role models. The aim of the campaign is to combat racism through anti-racist education. SRtRC is fortunate to have the backing of many top managers and players. The charity specialises in producing educational resources including films, education packs, magazines and posters.

'Islamophobia' is a brand new film tackling this growth area in racism, featuring the views of many top players and also young people discussing their views and experiences around Islamophobia. Included with the Islamophobia film is 'A Safe Place' which addresses issues and attitudes around asylum seekers and refugees. There is also a Scottish anti-racist film featuring interviews with top Scottish players and young Scots' experiences and opinions on racism. All DVDs come with education packs with ideas and activities suitable for a broad age range, from primary and secondary schools and are available to order from the SRtRC website.

SRtRC also deliver anti-racist workshops in schools using ex-professional footballers Derek Ferguson, Jim Duffy, Gary McKay, Michael Weir and Brian Irvine. They allow schools to be proactive in promoting racial equality by tackling a serious issue using football as a starting point. The anti-racist workshops can be supplemented with an hour's football coaching. It includes emphasis on teamwork, healthy lifestyles and sportsmanship.

Their annual Fortnight of Action is two weeks of concerted anti-racist activity throughout Scotland involving community groups, schools, supporters trusts, youth groups as well as teams from the Premier League, Scottish Football League and the Junior and Women’s Leagues.

Their will be a major relaunch of the SRtRC annual anti-racist schools competition in March 2009.
