Film Education
Charity funded by members of the UK film industry which aims to encourage and promote the study of film and cinema within schools. It offers stimulating activities and classroom resources on topical films which include study guides, videos and CD-ROMs.

Media Ed
For teachers, students and those interested in the media and moving image education in primary, secondary, further and informal education. This website aims to help young people develop skills in using the media effectively to communicate their own ideas. Lots of good resources for media studies, film studies and film making.


Drama workshops and activities

Toonspeak Young People's Theatre (TYPT)
Toonspeak provide free weekly drama workshops for young people aged 11 to 25 years living in North Glasgow. It is a participant-led project where young people take an active role in decision-making. They also offer free two-day drama training courses for adults who work with young people - no experience necessary.


Information

Creativity in Education in Scotland
Promotes the nurturing, fostering and teaching of creativity in Scottish schools. Innovative case studies and links to useful websites.

4Talent Scotland
A Channel 4 initiative to help young people aged 16 and over explore a career in the creative industries, from art and design to music, film making, performance, writing and new media. The site is packed with articles and advice about training, awards and work opportunities.


Organisations

Glasgow Film Theatre (GFT)
The GFT has a thriving education programme closely tied to the Scottish curriculum. it also arranges screenings, speakers and workshops for schools and can assist with film-making projects.

The Scottish Arts Council
Public body which funds a range of arts organisations and individual artists. It has an innovative and varied education outreach programme.

Scottish Screen
Provides training and development for film, television and new media. Some great opportunities for young people to get involved. Classroom resources are available and there is an excellent First Writes competition.

TAG Theatre Company
Scotland's national theatre company for young people. Information on TAG's exciting performance projects and plans and its drama workshops and training programmes for young people.
