NEW Dunfermline High School devised topics for P7 pupils to work on before, during and after their transition to high school to help improve their integration and engage pupils in active learning.

Using AifL to engage with Curriculum for Excellence science outcomes

NEW Staff in the Fife ASG examined how effective assessment practice could inform engagement with Curriculum for Excellence science outcomes. By working across the schools in the cluster, the group hoped to foster shared understanding of the expectations set out in the outcomes and to explore the nature of progression from three to 15.

Forging links between secondary and primary in Peterhead ASG

The secondary were very keen to develop more effective links with the primaries to establish continuity and progression. It was agreed that writing 5–14 would be the focus for development to ensure all schools had a common approach.

Rothesay Academy Cluster

As part of their project, staff collaborated to develop a system of local moderation to share the standard and quality assure teachers’ assessments.

Developing supportive communities of practice in Linwood ASG, Renfrewshire

The group worked together to ensure progressive formative development of writing and to moderate the summative work produced to agreed local standards, in line with national standards.
