Dimension, the pupil-run Young Enterprise Scotland team at Fortrose Academy, has scooped third place in the Young Enterprise UK Trade Fair.
The sixth-year pupils formed the business last August as part of the Young Enterprise Scotland (YES) Company Programme, which provides young people with first-hand experience of running a business.
The team set to work designing products to encourage healthy eating. Their five-a-day fridge magnet and activity and story book were created to help parents keep track of their children’s daily intake of fruit and vegetables. Dimension took part in the Inverness Trade Fair at Christmas, where they won Best Innovative Product, and they were runners-up in the Highland Dragons’ Den competition. On 15 March the pupils travelled down to Stratford upon Avon for the UK Trade Fair, where they took third place. It was a great showing for enterprise in the Highlands, with Nairn Academy winning first prize.
