Win a chance to report at the Scottish Learning Festival 2008

Learning and Teaching Scotland is offering an exciting opportunity for budding young reporters.

Connected would like to invite five school pupils to attend the Scottish Learning Festival 2008 and report on the action of the day. Their report will feature in a future issue of the magazine. This is a fantastic opportunity for pupils to experience a taste of media life, develop their written skills and see their work in print.

For a chance to take part, pupils should form into teams of five and write an answer to the following question: ‘Why do you want to report on the Scottish Learning Festival 2008?’

Responses should be no longer than 200 words. Teachers should include the pupils’ names, class and school on the entry, plus their own contact details. It should be emailed to Connected no later than Monday 7 July 2008.

Terms and conditions

Closing date for entries is Monday 7 July 2008. The competition is only open to pupils from P5 upwards. Only one entry per group will be accepted. All five pupils should attend the same school. A teacher should be available to accompany the group and will be responsible for their pupils for the duration of the visit. Signed permission slips must be returned to the school, with copies sent to Learning and Teaching Scotland, in advance of the trip. The judges’ decision is final and correspondence will not be entered into. Personal information will be held by LTS in accordance with the Data Protection Act 1998. LTS employees (including those on secondment) are not eligible to enter. LTS reserves the right to publish the winning team’s names on the LTS website, Connected Live and Connected magazine.
