Using an IT system

An IT system is a tool to help you do your work. It has two main parts: hardware and software.

The hardware is the actual equipment, and usually sits on a desk or bench.

The software is all the programs that you use. Any files that you save are also software. These are usually stored on a hard disk or CD, and loaded into the computer's memory when they are needed.
