Starting a program

This is an activity to try on your computer

Now that you are familiar with using the Start menu, try this exercise.

Open a program such as Paint.

  1. Open the Start window again.

  2. Move the highlight bar to All Programs.

  3. Click the left mouse button. A window to the right will appear.

  4. Move the pointer to Accessories.

  5. Click the left mouse button. Another menu appears to the right.

  6. Click on Paint from the menu.

The program Paint should now be open on your desktop.

You now know how to find and run a program using the Start menu.
