Formatting a disk means making it ready to receive data. It does this
by writing Tracks & Sectors on the disk to enable it to store data.
New disks come ready formatted but used disks may need to be formatted
for your computer.
This is also a quick way to remove all
data from a disk. With that in mind, make sure you do not format
a disk with anything you want to keep on it. There is no way to
get data back after you do this.
