It aims to raise awareness and remove misconceptions about Islam to help people understand more about it and about Muslims living in Britain, therefore tackling Islamophobia. It contains extensive information about the history and practice of Islam and about Muslims living in Britain. It contains resources and ideas for schools and young people regarding activities and events.

This IHRC is an independent, not-for-profit, campaign, research and advocacy organisation based in the UK. The website contains information on education, citizenship, discrimination and schools. It has reports on the effects of the UK anti-terrorism laws on Muslims in Britain and commentary on the use and banning of the hijab in some schools. It provides an online form for reporting any form of anti-Muslim discrimination or Islamophobia (anonymously, if you wish).

FAIR has an extensive range of useful resources: fact sheets, reports and Islam awareness packs including packs on Hajj and Ramadan. The website highlights the Faith and Positive Images project which seeks to project a more balanced and positive image of Islam and Muslims through the promotion of the Islamic arts and culture and to promote inter-faith cooperation and dialogue around shared values and beliefs. It also has a Media & Popular Culture Watch section which monitors specific incidences of Islamophobia and issues of concern and/or interest to the multi-faith communities in Britain.

The Virtual Classroom site is aimed at helping pupils learn about Islam in a fun and exciting way. Stage One of the project focuses on Muslim heritage, culture and contributions to modern day life. It looks at Muslim heritage and objects related to Islam. It also has an interesting 12 question quiz where players have to solve a riddle then find the relevant object in the classroom. The virtual classroom itself allows you to explore how Muslims use or have contributed to the discovery or creation of everyday objects.

The Commission on British Muslims and Islamophobia was set up by the Runnymede Trust in 1996. Its has published 2 reports: "Islamophobia: a challenge for us all" in 1997 and "Islamophobia - issues, challenges and action" published in June 2004. Both reports are available on the website. The site also provides links to a range of websites relating to Islam and Islamophobia along with links to other relevant topics such as multi-culturalism and racism.
