This DVD is primarily for teachers and youth workers who are wishing to use drama and community work techniques to introduce work on bigotry, discrimination, sectarianism, anti-sectarianism.

Copies of this DVD was sent to every local authority school in Scotland. Teachers in these schools can obtain a copy from their Headtecher.

This DVD has different sections and can be viewed as a whole or in sections depending on time available. Sections range from 5 minute clips to 15 minute clips.

Description

The DVD features a drama teacher working with St Michael's Primary and St Joseph's College, both in Dumfries. Youngsters from the Tullochan Trust in Alexandria feature in the youth work section. The DVD draws from the exercises found within the Youth Work and Self-development section on this site and features interviews with teachers that have piloted and taken forward anti-sectarian work.  Other techniques used and demonstrated on the DVD include using ice-breakers, active listening, setting group rules. addressing parental and colleague concerns.
