Learning and Teaching Scotland is committed to producing websites and web resources that can be accessed by all users.
We are working hard to ensure that all pages produced on the LTS Online Service will conform to the AA standard of the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines produced by the Web Accessibility Initiative (WAI) of the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C).
Standard layout and navigation structure across the Online Service
Alternative textual descriptions for images
Capacity for users to resize the text using the resize option in their browser
Capacity for users to skip directly to the content area of the page
Headings and paragraphs on pages which aid navigation with alternative browsers
Text for links that make sense when read out of context
'Breadcrumb' trail to help with navigation within a section of the site
Access keys to jump to specific areas of the websites
Sitemaps which provide an overview of the websites' structure and organisation
Cascading style sheets (CSS) are used for visual layout and presentation
Relative font sizes, compatible with the user-specified 'text size' option in visual browsers
Content which can be still be read even if your browser or browsing device does not support stylesheets at all.
We strive to ensure that the LTS Online Service pages meet industry standards:
Most browsers support jumping to specific links by typing keys defined on the website.
If you are using a PC, press 'Alt' and an access key, then 'Enter' to take you to that page.
If you are using an Apple Mac, press 'Control' and an access key, then 'Enter' to take you to that page.
All our pages use the following access keys:
We have done our best to ensure the Online Service is as accessible as possible. If you do find any accessibility problems that affect or prevent your use of the website, please contact us and we will do our best to address the problem as soon as possible.
