Our partners

Learning and Teaching Scotland operates as part of the Scottish educational and learning community and in relation to the wider political, social, economic and cultural context.

In fulfilling its remit, LTS seeks to work in a consultative, collaborative and creative manner with a wide range of organisations in the public, private and voluntary sectors within Scotland and beyond.

We have valuable and productive relationships with schools and local authorities, and work in close partnership with the Scottish Government, HM Inspectors of Education (HMIE), the Scottish Qualifications Authority (SQA), Association of Directors of Education (ADES), the Convention of Scottish Local Authorities (COSLA) and the Financial Services Authority (FSA).

We also share our headquarters with the SQA.

Scottish Government

LTS and the Scottish Government have worked productively together for many years and are currently collaborating closely on a number of projects, including the development of the new Curriculum for Excellence for 3-18 education.

HMIE

In a formal agreement, LTS and HMIE have agreed to share information and work together on shared priorities including promoting excellence, disseminating best practice and identifying areas for improvement.

ADES and COSLA

LTS signed a Joint Agreement with the Association of Directors of Education in Scotland (ADES) and the Convention of Scottish Local Authorities (COSLA) in November 2005.

It identifies a common agenda and shared priorities and includes a joint action plan.

Glow partners and stakeholders

The development of Glow, the Scottish schools intranet, is sponsored by the Scottish Government. There are three technology partners - RM, the United Kingdom Education and Research Networking Association (UKERNA) and Bull, as well as key stakeholders in the Scottish education community.

The Glow website has more information.

Scottish Learning Festival sponsors

Learning and Teaching Scotland works in partnership with Emap Education to organise the annual Scottish Learning Festival. The Festival also has several sponsors, who are listed on the Scottish Learning Festival website.

Financial Services Authority (FSA)

FSA's National Strategy for Financial Capability (Schools Project) and the Scottish Centre for Financial Education (SCFE) at LTS signed a joint agreement in April 2007.
