Effects of Brain Training programme on classroom learning
In January 2007, Learning and Teaching Scotland (LTS) and a selection of local authorities launched a small-scale controlled trial involving the use of Nintendo DS consoles, Dr Kawashima’s Brain Training and Brain Gym in mental arithmetic.
CPD and Working with Children Under 3 Years
Learning and Teaching Scotland commissioned the Faculty of Education at the University of Strathclyde to carry out research exploring continuing professional development (CPD) provision for early years practitioners and managers working with children under the age of 3.

LTS has commissioned a research team from the University of Glasgow to collect, analyse and report on data gathered during the Curriculum for Excellence engagement process on the draft experiences and outcomes.

Evaluation of the Scottish Learning Festival 2007
Learning and Teaching Scotland commissioned an evaluation of the Scottish Learning Festival, an annual event focused on learning and teaching which aims to develop the education profession in Scotland.
Virtual Advisory Service (Pilot) Phase Two Evaluation
Learning and Teaching Scotland commissioned George Street Research to evaluate pilot phase two and this work was completed in August 2008.

CPD Needs of Headteachers
The purpose of the study was to enhance understanding of Scottish headteachers’ perceptions of how well existing provision of professional development is appropriate for their role, and to identify their ongoing professional development needs.
Evaluation of GridClub and SuperClubsPLUS
In December 2006, Learning and Teaching Scotland contracted SurveyDigital to carry out a combined evaluation of the GridClub and SuperClubPlus websites.
Assessment OF Learning
This programme began in 2002 with the aim of providing a streamlined and coherent system of assessment ensuring that parents, teachers and other professionals have the feedback they need on pupils' learning and development needs.
Virtual Advisory Service

The evaluation of the modern languages website was undertaken by George Street Research between May and August 2005.
Ticket to Space Evaluation
The evaluation of the third Ticket to Space event in 2004 was undertaken by Survey Digital. This evaluation could therefore be compared with evaluations of the event undertaken in 2002 and 2003.
SETT Evaluation
This evaluation presents findings from research conducted by SurveyDigital in the summer of 2005, which evaluated the value and potential of SETT (now called the Scottish Learning Festival).
