Glow Programme

Glow Programme

Learning and Teaching Scotland has the leading role in developing Glow - a unique schools intranet digitally linking 800,000 educators and pupils around Scotland.

Glow is funded by the Scottish Government and managed by Learning and Teaching Scotland, in partnership with RM.

Glow is for everyone. It equips educators and learners with powerful online tools to enable them to work together ina a safe and secure environment at any location or time. The tools and services provide support for all sorts of online activities and include interactive applications such as discussion forums, chat rooms and desktop videoconferencing. Glow also includes a virtual learning environment. All of these components are available via a web-based portal.

Glow’s main aim is to support educational development, with ambition and technology working together to transform the way education is delivered in Scotland. The Glow Programme will deliver a rich variety of features for learning, teaching and management using sophisticated software and resources made available to all users through the web.
