Research at Learning and Teaching Scotland

The aim of research activity in Learning and Teaching Scotland is to facilitate and influence evidence-informed decision making that will improve learning and teaching in Scottish education.

To do this the LTS Research team will:

  • undertake horizon scanning aligned to LTS business priorities – internally making use of intelligence data, externally scanning to find existing research and statistics.
  • support staff to make better use of research evidence by supporting the development of a research culture.
  • work with relevant external organisations to commission research/evaluation projects in line with business priorities.
  • disseminate our outputs through engagement and a range of communication channels appropriate to our target audience both within and beyond LTS.
  • The Research team also produce a bi-monthly digest, Research Round-Up, that collates and summarises national and international educational research and statistical reports.

To contact the Research team please email research@LTScotland.org.uk.
