Can my school get a complete list of all software available through LTS?

We work in partnership with a number of software publishers to get financial savings on software for Scottish education. We cannot give a price list because of the vast product range available and fluctuations in prices, but we highlight special promotions on our Software page.


Can I order software by telephone?

If you are a school, we will be happy to take your order by telephone provided you can supply us with a school purchase order number. If you are a private individual we accept credit and debit card payments.


When will I get my order?

We aim to dispatch all goods that are held in stock within 24 hours of receiving your order. Non-stock items will usually take up to five working days.


Is VAT included in the price of software?

No, all prices quoted are exclusive of post and packing and VAT. VAT where applicable is charged at the standard rate.


Can I return software to LTS?

It will depend on whether it is our own-brand software or software/licences from another publisher.

LTS's own-brand software is available on a 28-day approval system. For software/licences from another publisher it depends on the publisher. Software licences are not normally refundable.

I am a teacher/student; can I get discounts on software?

Yes you can!

There are various software licensing schemes available from LTS and each has different eligibility criteria. A Student/Staff Licence Scheme price list is available from Customer Services.


Are there discounts for registered charities?

This will depend on the software product you wish to purchase. Different licence schemes have different eligibility criteria.

When I purchase a licence is the CD included in the price?

Licence schemes can vary but the rule of thumb is usually that licences and CDs are purchased and priced separately.


Can I buy the CD first and then buy the licence later on?

No. First and foremost you must purchase a licence for every computer on which you wish to install the software. In most cases you will only require one CD for installation purposes.


Can I install an older version of Microsoft software using the most up-to-date version of the licence?

Yes, in most cases Microsoft applications are backwards compatible. If in doubt, please call our Customer Services.


Why have I received my invoice for Microsoft licences but I don't have my licence?

In the case of Microsoft, your invoice is your proof of licence. With most other publishers; you will receive a separate licence, either electronically or in hard copy.


My school has bought software for me to use in the classroom. Can I install this on my home computer?

Unless otherwise informed, software purchased is registered to be installed at the address of the school only. The Customer Services team will be happy to discuss possible alternatives.
