Higher Dance Practice - two new resources

• Higher Dance Practice videos and notes
  A selection of video files demonstrating jazz, contemporary and classical dance techniques. These are accompanied by concise notes designed to guide the teacher through the various techniques demonstrated in the videos.

• Higher Dance Practice: Practical Assignment
  A self-help guide to assist learners through the requirements of the practical assignment for Higher. Learners will be supported through each stage of planning, developing and evaluating their performance.

NQ Online continues to build upon its collection of useful websites. Every month, one of these new web links is given the accolade of website of the month.

This month's selection offers resources that could support practitioners delivering the new Higher Dance syllabus. Scottish ballet offers dance workshops and provides educational resources - currently featured are synopses for: The Sleeping Beauty; The Nutcracker and Cinderella.

Scottish Learning Festival 2009

A reminder that the Scottish Learning Festival is taking place at the SECC, Glasgow, on 23-24 September 2009. This year’s theme is Curriculum for Excellence: Making the change.

The National Qualifications Team will be represented on both days with seminars and discussion groups. Further details about the festival and an opportunity to register can be found on the Scottish Learning Festival website.
