Ewan McIntosh is currently Development Officer for the Modern Foreign Languages Environment (MFLE), a pilot project aimed at supporting MFL educators in Scotland in their continuing professional development.
As a classroom teacher at Musselburgh Grammar School, East Lothian, Ewan helped launch the first open-comment school blogs in the UK and the first schools podcast in Europe. This work was shortlisted for a New Statesman New Media Award and won the European Award for Languages, 2005.
Recently appointed Principal Teacher of Modern Languages at Kilmarnock Academy in East Ayrshire, Shona has been teaching for 8 years. Before going into teaching she studied French, German and Spanish at Strathclyde University and worked as a bilingual secretary for 4 years in the whisky industry. Shona spent 18 months living and working in Germany and, after a career break to bring up three boys, she went to Paisley University to train as a modern languages teacher. She has a keen interest in ICT and has used a SMART Board daily in her classroom for the past four years.
