Aberdeenshire Council held a teachers' CPD event to promote innovative practice in their schools but also to inspire teachers to become involved in some of the games-based learning projects that they had planned. The class teacher discusses how this helped him get involved with the Myst project.
In order to support the teachers involved with the Myst project, Tim Rylands was invited to deliver a CPD event that would help the teachers not only get to grips with the Myst III Exile itself but also with the activities and methodologies that they could begin using in order to engage and motivate the children to write.
The Myst project happened to begin when one of the Glow pilots was running. The ICT team at Aberdeenshire decided to use the Glow Groups facility to create a community of practice to help support the sharing of ideas, resources and experiences of the teachers involved in the Myst project. It seems that it proved to be a huge help in facilitating collaborative practice.
The teacher found the Glow Group that was used to create and support a community of practice for the Myst project to be a great help in terms of teachers sharing their experiences, ideas and resources with each other.
