School pupils from across the UK are being given an opportunity to experience a taste of media life, as BBC News launches its School Report 2008/9.

Screaming pupils, a NASA astronaut, pyrotechnics and a live band came together at the Glasgow Science Centre in November.

Bullying and football were among other key issues covered by hopeful young Scottish journalists as part of the BBC’s School Report News Day 2007. Pupils aged 12 and 13-years-old from more than 100 schools across the UK were selected to produce TV, radio and online reports, which will be uploaded onto their school’s websites.
