Local authority projects
The early intervention projects that have been initiated by the Scottish local education authorities have demonstrated a wide variety of content and approach.
Some have opted to produce teaching and learning materials, some to produce staff development material; others have concentrated their resources on providing support staff and some have moved forward with a combination of approaches.
The majority of developments has been in the area of literacy, although there have also been a number of initiatives in numeracy.
