Primary/secondary liaison
In this video we can see two case studies involving initiatives taken by secondary mathematics departments. In the case of Pitlochry High School, Ruth Donaldson describes the measures she has taken to try to make P7 pupils feel positive about coming to study mathematics in the High School.
David Martin of Harris Academy intends to use the introduction of the Cognitive Acceleration in Mathematics Education (CAME) programme, as a context and catalyst for improving communications and understanding with their associated primary schools. David describes the four-phase programme that he has in mind.
