Problem Solving and Enquiry 5-14

Anne: The pupils' photocopied sheets are kept as a record and evidence of what they have done, and we put them into their maths folders. These folders are available to parents at parents' information evenings, and they're passed on from one stage to the other.

Teacher: Usually the children have got some sort of work sheet to complete, where they can record their findings. On any activities they do on the computer I would usually ask them to print the evidence off so that we can – I can have a look at it, see if they've had any difficulty. And these assessments can be kept in the child's individual file, and can be brought out for – if a parent was asking about a particular area, or if the headteacher or even myself – if I wanted to go back over and find out, you know, a child was having a difficulty this time but seemed to manage it ok the last time. So we do keep records within the children's individual files and these are passed on to the teacher, the next teacher.
