In this section we look at an aspect of problem solving that was not referred to in the 5-14 Guidelines, but which many schools are using to complement their mathematical problem solving programme, as well as to support pupils’ thinking throughout the curriculum. 

In this video Fiona Hislop from Airlie Primary School and David Porteous from George Heriot’s Junior School talk about the critical thinking skills programme in their schools.
