LEVEL F IN PHYSICAL EDUCATION

The general and subject specific advice given in the 5-14 Guidelines on Expressive Arts remains valid for teachers of Physical Education.

Work done in Physical Education classes can make a significant contribution to pupils' understanding and attainment of Health Education targets. Physical Education teachers should, therefore, familiarise themselves with the Level E and Level F advice relating to Healthy and Safe Living.

The guidance given about programmes for pupils beyond Level E set out in page 74 of National Guidelines; Expressive Arts (1992) emphasises the interdependence of the various elements. Teachers will wish to give attention to this advice in designing programmes for Level F.
