Investigating visually and recording
|
Use a variety of ways of recording, e.g.
drawing, painting, sketching, constructing, still or video
photography;
use these as the basis for further development
in a variety of media.
|
Record information visually in a variety of
ways with precision and accuracy;
systematically collate visual information
by exploring stimuli from a number of different viewpoints,
using one or more types of visual media, e.g. crayon,
pencil, ink, etc.
|
Pupils should continue direct observation in varied contexts
and situations and develop more confidence in recording
visual information, e.g. site visits, in galleries, museums,
heritage centres, at home, in the classroom.
At this stage, pupils should identify and represent in appropriate
media the subjects they choose to record, e.g. textures
on natural forms, linear features of mechanical forms, colour
in landscape.
In order to enhance their ability to identify and use the
most appropriate media for expressive or design purposes,
pupils should experiment with familiar and new two and three
dimensional media in context.
Opportunities should be provided for pupils to learn about
visual investigation and recording methods and processes.
