
The guidelines for Religious and Moral Education (RME) in non-denominational schools, published in November 1992, provide schools with guidance relating to the following aspects of RME: the rationale; the attainment outcomes and targets; the programmes of study; catering for the needs of individual pupils; and assessment and recording. The presentation of RME is structured under the headings: Christianity, Other World Religions and Personal Search. The attainment outcomes, knowledge and understanding, and skills and attitudes are in relation to and are consistent with the headings above.
Although the current 5-14 curriculum will be with us for the immediate future, you can use the resources on this site with Curriculum for Excellence in mind. Use this short Reflection Guide to help you adapt resources in accordance with some of the principles and purposes of Curriculum for Excellence.
